Esther has lived in the Rhondda for most of her life, having grown up in Gelli and Ton Pentre, and currently lives in Ystrad. She has worked in a variety of roles, and is currently employed as an ICT tutor for the Penrhys Partnership’s ‘Big Click‘ project. She has recently joined the Governing Body of Ton Pentre Infants School, and is very much looking forward to getting involved with the excellent work being done for the children of Gelli.
As the mother of three boys she is very concerned for the future for our young people, and welcomes Plaid’s focus on encouraging job creation in the valleys. Having worked with unemployed people, and been a recent jobseeker herself, she is keenly aware what a dire situation we face in the Rhondda, and is eager to do all she can to help.
A keen mountain walker, Esther is passionate about preserving and promoting the beauty and potential that exists here. She has recently joined the Keep Wales Tidy “Litter Champions” campaign, which encourages people to clear litter in their local area, and has been busy clearing litter in the local area. Our people and our environment are the most important resources we have, and Esther believes that a prosperous Rhondda can be created by working for the benefit of both. Esther is currently involved in the early stages of the creation of a new community group for the local area, which she would be happy to talk to anyone in the area about. She has also recently been awarded a grant from UnLtd Wales to research and write a business plan for a social enterprise she hopes will create employment in the area, which, again, she will be very happy to talk to you about
Esther is very proud to have been selected to represent Plaid Cymru in the ward she grew up in, and is now raising her children, and hopes you will vote for her to take the Ystrad ward forward to a better future.
