When I blogged a couple of weeks ago about Russell Roberts taking another job, in addition to the THREE he already had, I honestly thought that would be it, that four jobs would be enough for him.

How wrong I was!

On the same day that Wales Online reported that increasing numbers of people in Wales are being forced to take multiple low paid jobs simply to make ends meet, it was reported that Cllr Roberts has another job!! Yet again, paid for out of public funds. And bizarrely, this latest job is working for an English based Local Government advisory board…. very odd considering that Local Government is a devolved area, local government in Wales is under the control of the Welsh Government!

If Councillor Roberts is really serious about his role as leader of the Rhondda Cynon Taff council, then he really should consider devoting more of his time and energy to the job in hand, and worry less about inflating his bank balance and ego. Rhondda Cynon Taff needs and deserves a council leader that gives their full attention to the job in hand, who puts the needs of the people of RCT before anything else. It cannot be possible to do this while trying to juggle four other jobs. The role of Council Leader should, according to recommendations by the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales, be a full time job. Cllr Roberts really needs to decide where his priorities lie. If they are not with the people of RCT, who elected him and his Labour colleagues to office, then he should really consider his position.

Plaid Cymru, if elected to run Rhondda Cynon Taff council, will have a full time leader who will be just that, a leader for RCT.

If you are fed up of greed and ego running our communities, rather than concern for the communities, then use your vote wisely on May 3rd, and vote Plaid Cymru. We won’t let you down.
